Discovering the Magic of Sark: A Memorable Press Trip with Clos à Jaon
Some places stay with you long after you leave — and Sark is undoubtedly one of them.
Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful press trip to Sark on behalf of Clos a Jaon, welcoming an exceptional group of UK travel journalists to experience the island’s unique charm first-hand.
From the moment we arrived, Sark delivered exactly what it promises: breathtaking scenery, slower living and a sense of escape that feels increasingly rare to find.
Over the course of the trip, we explored dramatic coastal paths with uninterrupted sea views, discovered hidden corners of the island and experienced the peaceful rhythm that makes Sark so special. With no cars on the island, every journey became part of the experience — whether travelling by bike, tractor transport or simply taking time to walk and absorb the surroundings.
Food, as always, played a huge part in the trip. Our guests enjoyed incredible local produce and some of Sark’s fantastic dining experiences, including wonderfully fresh seafood and the island’s famously welcoming hospitality.
One of the highlights was simply taking time to slow down — watching the changing light over the coastline, enjoying long conversations over meals and appreciating Sark’s extraordinary natural beauty. As a recognised Dark Sky Island, evenings offered something equally special, with clear skies creating a magical atmosphere after sunset.
Trips like these are a reminder of the power of experiencing a destination properly. Through carefully curated itineraries and time spent connecting with a place, journalists can uncover the stories and moments that inspire future travellers.
A huge thank you to our brilliant attending journalists for making the trip such a joy, and of course to Clos à Jaon for continuing to champion exceptional travel experiences.
If Sark isn’t already on your travel list this summer, it absolutely should be.
